Santa Cruz Community Credit Union is currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer OR a Controller-level manager seeking to grow into a CFO position. This position would manage an accounting team and ensures complete and accurate financial, statistical, and accounting records of the Credit Union.

Key responsibilities will include the following:

· Oversee general ledger maintenance to ensure they are in balance and current

· Analyzes monthly financials for CEO, Committees and Board of Directors. Advises department managers of budgetary issues for accountability. Manages the preparation of material for ALCO monthly and Enterprise Risk Management reporting.

· Directs the preparation and evaluation of budgets and capital plans including management of department cost accounting. Responsible for forecasting and identifying budget variances and recommending action.

· Oversees reporting to regulatory authorities as well as auditors and presents monthly reports to staff, management, CEO and the Board of Directors as directed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Credit Union Experience Preferred

· Experience 5-10 years of similar or related experience

· Education 4 year degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting. MBA in Accounting, CPA or related education preferred

Santa Cruz Community Credit Union is searching for a proven, innovative, and analytical Lending Manager. This executive will be responsible for growing and maintaining the quality of the credit union's loan portfolio, including member business lending (including SBA) and real estate lending. The Lending Manager will be charged with creating efficiencies within the loan department through process improvements, monitoring credit risk, and increasing and balancing the loan portfolio.

The successful candidate will have exceptional leadership skills, strong analytical skills, and a proven history in growing a sound loan portfolio. At minimum, five years of lending experience at a similar size or larger financial institution with a comprehensive and solid SBA lending experience (min 2 years). A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position; Master's Degree is preferred.

The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of this job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation, internally and externally, is an important part of this job. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and be able to develop creative solutions to complex issues.

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Santa Cruz Community Credit Union, with assets of $100 million, and located in Santa Cruz, California is seeking an Financial Analyst. This position involves performing various accounting and finance functions. The successful candidate will develop and create new accounting procedures that utilize technology to create efficient, time-saving processes.


• Responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts for Investments, Federal Reserve account, off-line loan portfolio, control accounts for loans and shares.

• Responsible for day- to-day general ledger accounting and reconciliation, financial reporting and analysis for other assigned functional areas.

• Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analysis

• Investigate and report to the Manager any inconsistencies or improprieties.

• Analyze data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed

• Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested

• Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance Projects as assigned by Management

• Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the credit union's performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.

• Maintain and develop various financial models and standard templates distributed for use by all of Finance during the planning processes, ensuring quality, accuracy and focused analytic review.

• Demonstrate appropriate understanding / working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, and apply them.

Skills & qualifications required:

The financial analyst position in the finance department demands following skills and qualifications.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA/MBA a plus.

• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Must have extremely strong MS Excel skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion is required

• Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques required

• Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude

• Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems

• Strong presence with ability to interact with Senior staff.

• Financial modeling expertise a plus
