SCCCU is excited to partner with Project SCOUT to offer the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in Santa Cruz County. You can count on Project SCOUT and VITA to provide the highest quality tax service to families and individuals.
Eligibility to Receive Services
Anyone over the age of 60, those with a disability, low-income families and individuals are eligible to participate.
How to Make an Appointment
Due to the ongoing restrictions surrounding COVID-19, tax preparation will only be done by appointment this year. To schedule your appointment, email projectscoutoffice@gmail.com OR call 831-724-2606. Please include the following in your email or voice message:
An IRS-Certified Volunteer from Project SCOUT will return your message promptly.
Documents to Bring to Your Scheduled Appointment:

Form 13614c INTAKE SHEET (provided by Project SCOUT) so the tax professional helping you will know what you need to declare in your taxes

Form 14446 Virtual Taxpayer Consent (provided by Project SCOUT)

Your Social Security Card, SA-1099 form (if receiving Social Security Income), or ITIN
-
A valid Driver’s License or ID with your picture on it

Your most recent completed tax return
-
All of your employment income, including W-2s, 1099s, etc.

All 1099s reporting income other than wages, salaries, and tips

Breakdown of expenses or costs incurred for 1099s
-
Breakdown of charitable donations and the dollar amount or value of the items per donation
-
Payments or other contributions you have made that may be deductible from your taxable income - 1098s

Forms that report your health insurance coverage 1095s
NOTE: If you wish to have your refund automatically deposited, please bring a voided check or savings account deposit slip showing your account numbers.

You may also drop off your documentation at the Project SCOUT office in Watsonville every Tuesday and Wednesday starting February 17, 2021.
